Did you know that Don Cornelius's Soul Train, a Black American TV program, is the longest running show in American broadcast syndication history! The first episode was October 2,1971 and final episode March 25, 2006.

Black Wall Street: 600 Businesses, 21 Restaurants, 21 Churches, 2 Movie Theatres, 6 Private Planes, Hospital, Bank, School System, Libraries, Law Offices, and Bus System. Imagine that! In 1921 with racism and discrimination at its peak; Black American men and boys being hung by the neck, and we were still able to build our own cities and do for our selves like we always have before White European intervention. This community was in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As in most cases the haters burned it down, but we always come back bigger and better. They can't kill our spirit! If we did that then, imagine what could be done now if we pool our resources together in the name of uplifting our people.

Did you know that two living Popes at the Vatican pray to a Black Madonna and child? They know the truth even though its not publicized. The Roman Catholic Church in Vatican City, Italy (yes they have their own city, laws etc.) is the wealthiest religious organization in the world. They also own more property worldwide than any other establishment in modern society. As you notice on the wall they acknowledge Black Deities (left) Pope prays the prayer of forgiveness and truth in action, but check out who he is praying to. I think they've been working some of those old ancient Black secrets stored up in the Vatican vault to get that wealth. What do you think?

A Black Man Designed Washington, D.C. Yes, the capital of The United States of America and my hometown. Shout out to my family, friends and Le Droit Park. That's the neighborhood I grew up in. Howard University and the famed Howard Theatre are located there too. Also Dunbar High School, the first Black public high school.

  • FYI: Currently there are 17,985 Police Agencies in the United States with different policies and approximately 696, 644 Police Officers.

I'm having a drink with my friend Omar Neal (r) former Mayor of Tuskegee, Alabama and a graduate of Montgomery Ala. Police Academy. Omar's company is one of the top police training firms in the country! We are discussing my concerns about police brutality against the Black community and how to combat this issue through training and education, but we are realistic about the motives of some White police officers and conclude that training won't supersede character, morality or evil.

Barack Obama enjoys a meal at famous Ben's Chili Bowl in the neighborhood I grew up in. See "ATL-Wash-BR" page.

Gil Scott H-Heron, also an accomplished musician / author collaborated with Brian Jackson to create hits like "Winter in America" and "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised". Signed by Arista Records. Born in Chicago, Ill. and raised in Jackson,  Tenn.  received a Grammy " Life Time Achievement Award" in 2012 posthumous. He died in 2011.

Poets Corner: Coming Soon The spoken word has always been a tradition in our culture. Information was passed down thru generations in this manner. Unfortunately, and maybe strategically a lot of relevant info was lost due to lack of written documentation. Fortunately there is enough still available for Black folks to understand who we are and what to do to change the conditions for ourselves, children, and grand children amidst the hatred and racism that is still prevalent in the USA, and South America. The exploitation of Africa is another conversation. Some have mastered this art form and have used it in a relevant, constructive manner in an effort to provoke positive change for our people. Gil Scott-Herron is one of those people, and some even call him respectfully "The Godfather" of so called Rap music. In any case he is one of the greatest poets and conscious communicators of all time. Much Love, My Brother! Marcus Garvey says ,"A people without the knowledge of their past history is like a tree without roots". Good analogy!

The Value of the Black Race: His story (his-tory) versus the real story. Understanding who we are. Black People are so valuable that White Europeans built thousands of ships and traveled thousands of miles to enslave our ancestors. Black People built the civilizations in Africa that Whites hoped to build in America. To this day scientist and engineers can't figure out how we built the pyramids in Egypt & Kush. Our ancestors were highly skilled craftsman, and if you check old slave sale records you'll find we were engineers, carpenters, mechanics, nurses ,brick masons, cooks, seamstresses; just to name a few. Black American slaves built the USA infrastructure including roads, bridges, railways and buildings for free! Blacks were even on loan to build the "Presidents House" or referred to as the "White House" and the Capital. Wall Street was even founded on slavery and Blacks even built the wall that gives it the name. How about lets paint the White House black while President Obama is in office.

Slave Trade: According to the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade Data Dase 12.5 million slaves were shipped to America. Black Americans not only performed such professions as stated above but they grew the food, raised and butchered the animals, cooked the food, and as quiet as its kept even raised some White folks children. All as slaves receiving no financial compensation and treated like animals. Records show that 2 million died on the way. Note: Incredible as these figures are, some say they are grossly under estimated, maybe because the people that kept the records may have left out some millions, if you know what I mean.

76% of players for the National Basketball Association (NBA), and 68% of the National Football League (NFL) are Black. James "Jesse" Owens won 4 gold medals in 1936 Olympic Games for USA, and had to come home to racism & hatred.

Did you know that the Statue of Liberty in New York City was a copy? Yes! The original idea was a Black woman (left) which still exists today in France. The original was offered to the United states but rejected because it was a Black women. The concept was stolen and the powers that be created what you see on the right. The model by Augusta Bartholdi to be adopted by the United States had broken chains at her feet and in her left hand to symbolize the broken chains of slavery. It still exists today at the Museum of the City of New York, Fifth, Ave. & 103rd St. Bartholdi was largely influenced by ancient sculptor Phidias who built gigantic statues. Initially he wanted the statue to be a combination of freedom and "Isis" the Egyptian Queen of Heaven. Do the research!

In The United States of America this area was established close to the neighborhood I grew up in, a few blocks away to be exact (Le Droit Park)! Yeah, I'm proud! Hey Chocolate City what's up with all that vanilla there now? Answer, "Gentrification man"! Benjamin Banneker was hired by George Washington to design the Nation's Capital city. Of all the White architects he could have hired, but Washington chose him. That alone speaks for itself in terms of the greatness of our people!

Black Americans have bravely served in the military from the beginning. No war has been fought without the participation of Black Americans. We served in War of 1812, Revolutionary War, Civil War, the Spanish American War, the Korean War, the World Wars 1 & 2, the Vietnam War, Gulf War, the War in Iraq, and represented in current international conflicts. Today we are 11.3% of the military while only 14% of the total American population. US Census Bureau.

Black Americans contributed thousands of inventions to improve society. Maria Van Britton Brown; Home Security System, Wilbert Dyer; Satellite Tracker, Lloyd Douglas Hall: Methods of Processing & Sterilization of Food, Garrett Morgan Traffic Light, Otis Boykin; Control Unit & Wire Resister for Heart Pacemaker. Examples. We are creators w/ a rich heritage. Our Ancestors built the entire railroad system in the southern US. They also Invented equipment for better operations and increased productivity, such as Elijah McCoy's inventions for the lubrication of steam engines. Frederick McKinley Jones invented the Automatic Refrigeration Systems for long haul trucks & rail cars. He is credited with inventing air conditioning and designed a unit specifically for military field hospitals. Mr. Jones was posthumously given the National Medal of Technology in 1991.

Don King is probably the greatest boxing promoter of all time. Known (right) for his King Crown hairstyle shock the world with his, "Thrilla in Manilla": Muhammad Ali and "Smokin" Joe Frazier fight. Heavyweight boxing has never been the same in his absence.

The Christopher Columbus Myth: Every year North Americans celebrate Columbus Day acknowledging him as the discoverer of the Americas. This is far from the truth. Black people as well as other races or cultures were already here! To misfortune the of many of these peoples he just found out where they were. There is so much proof but the writers of history books etc refuse to change this lie even knowing the truth, so this is still being taught in schools in the United States today. Historians, anthropologist, archeologists, scientist and scholars know this to be true. Many articles and books have been written during the 19th and 20th centuries that document Black people being in the Americas pre Columbus. There are also pyramids, statues and artifacts that exist today that offers more proof. Also ancient skeletons of Black people have been found all over the Americas including California, Mexico and South America. We existed with the tribes of North America and the great peoples of the Aztec and Maya empires. Nicholas Leon, a prominent Mexican Authority recorded the oral traditions of his people said "some of them reported that the oldest inhabitants of Mexico were Black". Other scholars believe that Blacks introduced pyramid and tomb construction, mummification, writing, calendar, as well as other sciences. Do your homework and stop believing everything you have been told or taught. The truth will set you free! As famed recording artist George Clinton put it, " Free your mind and your ass will follow."

In my opinion there is only one Almighty God, one Creator, one Infinite Source; whether you worship in Islam, the many denominations of Christianity, Buddhism, or any other religion. Black America has enough things that are causing division; hatred, distrust, and poor relationships; religion should not be one of them. We are a great people and must learn to love each other, help one another, share knowledge and resources, have each others back! The 'so called' Jews are a good example of what a culture can accomplish by being united under things in common instead of divided by traditionalism, being petty, and individualism. Our current survival in America depends on unity and the future generations do too! No matter who is President etc., we must save ourselves! We are already in position to do that, just need the will. In my opinion God is Love, so if we're not engaged in that with each other than who are we worshiping? Time for change, no more religious game playing; instead establish God's will on earth for His people for real. Reach out right where you are; find a way to help a Brother, Sister, or Child; you will never lose by giving or sharing. Support Black Business!

Hello. My name is Cassandra Kirk, and it has been my genuine pleasure to serve as our Fulton County, Georgia Chief Magistrate Judge for the past four years. I’m a metro Atlanta native, a Briarcliff High School graduate (Drill Team!), and a Williams College and Washington and Lee Law School graduate. I’m also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and a member of North Avenue Presbyterian Church. I served in private practice before I worked at both the Fulton and Newton DA’s offices, and have worked for both plaintiffs and defendants. I’ve served as a public defender and as a child advocate in the Juvenile Court. I’m proud to have served as a Juvenile Court Judge before I was appointed to the Fulton Magistrate Court. I’m the only candidate in this race to have served as a full-time judge. I live down the street from my mom. I have the world’s best family, and I’m the world’s coolest and most protective aunt. I’ve spent the past 10 years being a vocal opponent of human trafficking, and I’m a child welfare law specialist — the first judge certified as such in Georgia. When I’m not wearing the robe, I’m playing tennis, competing in sprint triathlons or riding a motorcycle. As our Fulton County Chief Magistrate Judge, it’s been my job to be with our family, friends and neighbors in the courtroom on their best and worst days. Judges can’t tell you how they will rule on cases — but I can tell you that working to serve our Fulton families is my distinct honor. As the first person to be appointed Fulton County Chief Magistrate Court Judge, I am always Focused on Fulton Families.

Clarence Avant is responsible for the advancement of so many careers in the entertainment industry and politics. He is currently 90 years old and still influential and sharp. I was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in LeDroit Park on V Street. On U St. around the corner there were 3 movie theatres, the famed Ben's Chili Bowl, The Howard Theatre, the best pool rooms in the city, and 14th St. strip for prostitution that ran all the way downtown to the Whitehouse with strip clubs all along the way.  I was a basketball star and everyone in the neighborhood wanted me to do well including the Hustlers, Strip Club owners, Pimps, and Prostitutes. Howard University was in my neighborhood too. I was even chosen to represent Washington, D.C. in The United States Youth Games at 12 years old. They picked the top 10 players in DC to travel around the country to compete with other cities. I served The Washington Post when I was 10, shoveled snow for neighbors, started a grocery business helping elderly from the grocery store and even shined shoes for James Brown, The Temptations, and others at the Howard Theatre. I also ran errands for Cecilia and other entertainers who ate at her restaurant, and caddied for Lee Elder too. When I was old enough to get a work permit I started working for the D.C. Recreation Dept. and Mayor Marion Barry's Pride Inc. every summer.

Harold Bell worked at the Recreation Dept. as a Roving Leader who's assignment was my area. The Roving Leader Program dealt with at risk youth. Coming from a single parent home (Mother) and the part of town I lived in, I fit in that category. Harold was the Roving Leader for my area and I also worked directly for him at Harrison Playground at 13 & V St. For me Harold has always been an example of doing things the honest and legal way even though I wanted the lifestyle of the hustlers, but it was important for him to emphasize that there were other ways of becoming wealthy or financially secure than being a gangster. He was handsome and dressed well, had swag and the young girls my age loved him, but he was always a professional and I admired that too.Harold use to always talk to me about being of good character, but I watched more of his actions and deeds than what he said. I tried to capture some of his contributions to the sports world, youth, and professional athletes in this piece, but it's just the tip of the iceberg, as Harold has helped and guided so many I don't have space to mention. To a mentor, friend, and one of the best human beings I've ever known in my life; much love to you My Brother, thanks! God continue to bless you and the family with joy, happiness, prosperity, peace,  good health.
