Barkley's Basketball Honors and Awards include: 1× NBA MVP (1993), 11× NBA All-Star (1987–1997), 5× All-NBA First Team Selection (1988–1991, 1993), 5× All-NBA Second Team Selection (1986–1987, 1992, 1994–1995), 1× All-NBA Third Team (1996), 1985 NBA All-Rookie Team, 1× NBA All-Star Game MVP (1991), NBA’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Team, 1984 SEC Player of the Year, 1980s SEC Player of the Decade, and One of the top 50 All-Time NBA Players.

Barkley never won an NBA Chapionship, but the five-time All-NBA First Team selection and 11-time All-Star is widely considered one of the greatest players of his generation and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006. Barkley is the 23rd all-time scorer in the NBA; he ranks 19th in all-time rebounds per game, 18th in total career rebounds and is one of only five players in NBA history with 23,000 points, 12,000 rebounds and 4,000 assists. The self-proclaimed “ninth wonder of the world” is the shortest player in NBA history to lead the league in rebounding. His career statistics of 22.1 points per game and 11.7 rebounds per game over 16 years are remarkable for his size and a credit to his will power.

Barkley was named the 2002 Personality of the Year by Sports Illustrated.
Barkley was the first player from the state of Alabama to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006.

Currently, Barkley is an NBA analyst for TNT’s Emmy award-winning "Inside the NBA"  for more than a decade. He hosts with Kenny Smith, Shaquille O’Neal and Ernie Johnson.Barkley’s personality have earned him an audience that transcends the sports arena. He speaks his mind regardless of the topic or public opinion. Barkley  says what most people won't and always keeps it real. He speaks on social issues that other top athletes won't.

The Charles Barkley Foundation has given millions of dollars to colleges and universities and he has personally contributed funds to start up businesses, invested in low income Black communities, other charities, and individuals.

BUILD IT AND THEY WILL BALL will propel the mission of the KDCF to enrich the lives of youth from low-income backgrounds through various educational and athletic programs. Trips abroad to Asia and Europe have also inspired Durant to connect internationally with the next generation leading the game.

“When I was young, playing basketball was one of the things that kept me out of trouble and kept me focused on my growth and maturity in to the man I would eventually become,” Durant said. “For that reason, I’ve always wanted to play a leadership role in communities and neighborhoods – like the one I grew up in – and give kids a chance to choose health, teamwork and basketball over some of the other negative influences they may face. Thanks to Nike and many other supporters, the renovation and development of these basketball courts is the perfect opportunity to open these doors.” The KDCF is an IRS-designated 501(C)3 Public Charity.

To my Washington DC home boy; great work and I hope you come back home to play!

In loving memory of my life long  best friend and brother who would want to be remembered as a basketball player. Love you forever. Rest in Peace.

Nothing But Nets is a United Nations Campaign to end malaria. "This is a cause that I have been seriously involved in since college. I hope not only to provide much needed bed nets, but to also  raise awareness about ending malaria." said Curry. These nets really save lives.

Candace Parker; Heart of a Champion

Off the court Candace is very active with many charities such as PETA, which is a charity for abused animals. She is a supporter of the Ronald McDonald House Charity, The Randy Foye Foundation, Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy, a Journey for 9/11, Muhammad Ali Center, and Hollyrod Foundation.  Candace also celebrated Rosa Parks 60th anniversary and her "Nah" t-shirt campaign. FYI above photo was approved by her grandmother so it's alright with me.  Don't hate;  love the tattoo Candace. Tastefully done.
